What is Conversational AI?

Conversational AI is technology that lets software understand and respond to human language in a natural dialogue, by text or voice.

It combines natural-language understanding, dialogue management and language generation (and, for voice, speech recognition and synthesis). Chatbots, voice agents and AI receptionists are all applications of conversational AI.
