What is MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)?

MTTR is the average time it takes to repair an asset and return it to service after a failure.

MTTR = total repair time ÷ number of repairs over a period. It includes diagnosis, waiting for parts and the repair itself, so improving spare-parts availability and technician information often reduces it more than working faster.
