What is Work Order?
A work order is a document — usually digital — that authorises and describes a maintenance or service task: what to do, on which asset, by whom and by when.
Work orders typically contain the asset, problem description, priority, assigned technician, checklist, parts and labour used, and completion notes. They can be raised from a request, generated by a preventive maintenance schedule or created after an inspection.
